Become a PADI Professional

The first step as a recreational diving professional begins with the PADI Divemaster program. During the course you work closely with a PADI Instructor in real tasks, expand your dive knowledge and improve your skills. The PADI Divemaster training develops leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and to assist instructors with student divers. 

WHAT WILL I LEARN IN MY PADI DIVEMASTER COURSE?

During the PADI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom study and independent study. You will practice water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems as well as help others improve their scuba abilities. 

 

WHAT CAN I DO AS A PADI DIVEMASTER?

Once certified as a PADI Divemaster you will be authorized to active:

  • Supervise both training activities as non-training, through planning, organizing and directing dives
  • Helping a PADI Instructor during training sessions from any PADI diving course
  • Conduct the PADI Skin Diver course and PADI Discover Snorkeling program independently
  • Conduct the PADI Discover Local Diving experience
  • Conduct the PADI Scuba Review
  • If qualified as a Discover Scuba Diving Leader, independently conduct the PADI Discover Scuba Diving
  • Get the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty Instructor to teach Digital Underwater Photography Specialty
  • Independently guide the students on the tour portion of the PADI Open Water Diver on training dives 2, 3 and 4 at a ratio of two student divers per certified Divemaster.
  • Accompany students the PADI Open Water Diver under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor during surface swims to and from the entry / exit point and during navigational exercises
  • Also when the PADI Instructor conducts a skill, such as an ascent or descent, a Divemaster can remain with other student divers 
  • Accompany student divers during Adventure Dives or in specialty training dives under the indirect supervision of a PADI Instructor
  • Conduct subsequent dives for Discover Scuba Diving participants, under the indirect supervision of an instructor after they have satisfactorily completed the first dive with a PADI Instructor
  • Teach Emergency First Response courses after completing the course in Emergency First Response Instructor

 

WHAT EQUIPMENT I NEED FOR THE PADI DIVEMASTER COURSE?

All equipment you need is included in the course price.
You use all the basic scuba equipment and some scuba accessories such as a dive slate, dive knife, compass, dive computer, etc.
It is strongly recommended that you own all of your own scuba equipment, knowing well your equipment improves general scuba diving skills.

 

WHAT TEACHING MATERIALS I NEED FOR THE DIVEMASTER COURSE?

There are many materials for the PADI Divemaster course, some are required and some optional but recommended.

WHAT DO I NEED TO ENROLL THE PADI DIVEMASTER COURSE?

 To enroll this course you must be:

  • 18 years of age
  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
  • PADI Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another training organization)
  • Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (or be qualified in CPR training and First Aid training from another organization). The course must be completed in within the last 24 months
  • Have at least 40 dives to begin the course and 60 for certification
  • Fit for diving submitting a Medical Certificate signed by a physician within the last 12 months

 

WHAT WILL THIS COURSE COST AND WHAT DOES IT INCLUDE?

The PADI Divemaster course price is 655 €

  • Divemaster kit with required materials

Excluded:

  • Certification rates € 87.60 are not included and each student pays directly to PADI office once the course is completed
  • DSD leader certification rates € 32.40 are not included and each student pays directly to PADI office once the course is completed
  • The professional diving insurance
